Embark on an exciting Wet & Wild Northeast India Tour combining the misty hills and waterfalls of Meghalaya with thrilling wildlife experiences in Assam. Explore Shillong and Cherrapunjee, trek to the iconic Double Decker Living Root Bridge, discover the rich biodiversity of Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, and enjoy Elephant and Jeep Safaris at Pobitora and Kaziranga National Park. End your journey in Guwahati with a visit to the revered Kamakhya Temple.
On arrival at Guwahati Airport / Railway Station & transfer to Shillong (4,900 ft.), called 'Scotland of the East". Enroute visit Umium Lake, a majestic placid lake with its surrounding sylvan hills. On arrival at Shillong, check in at your hotel. Overnight stay at Shillong.
After breakfast visit Don Bosco Museum, Ward’s Lake, Botanical Garden and Lady Hydari Park. Evening is free for personal activities. Overnight stay at Shillong.
After breakfast drive to Cherrapunjee (4,400 ft.), the wettest place in the world. On the way enjoy Mawkdok Valley, Nohkalikai falls and Arwah Caves. On arrival at Cherrapunjee, check in at your hotel. Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.
Note: Sohra (Cherrapunjee) & Dawki are rich by their own unique beauty & full of natural elegance. The places are paradise of nature lovers & travel enthusiastic. But these destinations are equipped with very limited options, facilities & basic amenities. Even best hotels are equivalent to basic 3*, that too without Fan (at few places), AC & Lift. Standard Accommodations over there are available; just with clean rooms, hygienic bathroom & basic non vegetarian food (very limited options are there for vegetarian guests).
After breakfast we get ready for a half day trek to visit the Double Decker Living Root Bridge deep inside the jungle. It will take 3 to 4 hrs (depending on the physical fitness of the person). Afternoon visit Nohsngithiang Falls (also known as the Seven Sisters Waterfalls), Mawsmai Cave, Koh Ram Hah and Ecopark. Evening back to the hotel. Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.
Optional Activity: Proceed for a full day trekking to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge at Nongriat Village. Need to trek approx. 3200 steps each way to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge. We can further trek down to the Rainbow Falls which take about 60 to 90 minutes from the Double Decker Living Root Bridge.
After breakfast proceed to Pobitora wildlife sanctuary covering 38.8 Sq. kms areas. Pobitora is the highest Rhino concentrated area in the world. Among the other animals like the Asiatic Buffalo, Leopard, Wild Bear, Civet Cat etc. are available here. More than 200 birds and various reptiles are found in this sanctuary. On arrival check in to the hotel. Evening free for leisure or proceed for a nature walk in and around the park. Overnight stay at Pobitora.
Early morning, proceed for an elephant safari (subject to availability). Return to hotel for breakfast. Later, proceed for Jeep Safari into Pobitora. Afternoon transfer to Kaziranga National Park, the home of “One Horned Rhinoceros”. Check in at your hotel. Evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay at Kaziranga.
Early morning explore any one zone of Kaziranga National Park on back of Elephant. Apart from the Rhino, other species found are Hog Deer, Swamp Deer, Wild Buffalo, Elephants and if you are lucky then tiger also. It is also home to pelicans, storks and darters as there are a number of water bodies inside the Park. Return to the resort for breakfast. In the afternoon enjoy jeep safari through the National Park, later visit Kaziranga Orchid Park. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay at Kaziranga.

After breakfast drive to Guwahati, enroute visit Maha Mrityunjay Temple in Nagaon. Arrive and check in at your hotel. In evening we suggest an optional tour of Golden sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra (Direct Payment by own). Overnight stay at Guwahati.
After breakfast visit Kamakhya Temple (Notes -Timing 08:00 A.M till 01:00 P.M & 3:00 P.M till its gets dark). Transfer to Guwahati Airport / Railway Station for your onward journey.
Note: Temple visit will depend on your departure time. It May be done on previous day.

Pobitora is renowned for its high concentration of One-Horned Rhinoceros and is also home to Asiatic buffalo, leopards, wild bears, civet cats and numerous bird species.
The trek requires good physical fitness and involves approximately 3,200 steps each way. The optional extension to Rainbow Falls requires an additional trek of around 60–90 minutes.

Cherrapunjee has limited accommodation and basic facilities. Even the best available properties may be equivalent to a basic 3-star standard, with limited AC, lift and dining facilities.
